This year’s theme, “Breaking Barriers, Baguhin Mo Ang Mundo”, emphasizes the importance of cultural humility in healthcare and of honoring our roots in a system historically not built for us. As we explore the many possible healthcare journeys we can embark on, we center our intentions towards shaping a better future for ourselves and for future generations. Our theme pays homage to the late Dr. Fe Del Mundo, a Filipina pediatrician and humanitarian who “broke barriers” in Philippine medicine and pioneered medical innovations throughout her eight-decade career. Her boundless compassion and relentless dedication to improve the lives of others make her a source of inspiration for us Filipinx-identifying and minority groups who want to pursue a career in healthcare.
“Baguhin Mo Ang Mundo” translates to “You Change the World”. It serves as a reminder that each of our individual experiences and identities has value in healthcare. It also serves as a call to action for us to use our unique voices in service of others and the world. Through the various speakers and workshops that we will be holding, we hope to equip our attendees with the tools to become the next generation of leaders in healthcare. FAHC’s Health Conference empowers the next generation of health professionals who are role models and changemakers in their fields and the diverse communities they belong in.

About FAHC
What is FAHC?
FAHC (Filipinx Association for Health Careers) is a support and awareness organization at UC Davis. Our purpose is to provide personal, social and academic support to students interested in pursuing a health-related career. We also promote Filipinx related health issues and cultural awareness to the community. A blend of customs and academic guidance are integrated together so members realize the health field is not just knowing the facts, but knowing people. FAHC strives to provide an atmosphere in which members can experience personal growth, utilize resources to achieve their goals, and to promote feelings of friendship and camaraderie.
