What is Health Conference?Biennially, the Filipinx Association for Health Careers (FAHC) at UC Davis hosts our Health Conference. The conference hosts a breadth of workshops from a variety of different health professionals. Each of them hopes to share their story, struggles, and wisdom to help inspire, guide, and motivate you in your journey to healthcare. Through this conference, we hope to promote interprofessional teamwork and dialogue in the health field to help foster culturally empathetic healthcare leaders, like you, for future patients.

When/where will Health Conference be?Health Conference 2022 will be held virtually on the Hopin digital conference platform on Saturday, April 9th.

Why should I go to HC?The FAHC Health Conference provides a plethora of pre-health related resources that will help jumpstart your healthcare journey with an exploration of different health professions. Get the unique experience of culturally-tailored programming! Come see your future self in the minority health professionals hosting our workshops! Since this conference is only held every other year, come join us April 9th!

What sets this year’s HC apart from previous years’ HC?This year’s health conference is unique because there is more flexibility for attendance due to the virtual setting. We are breaking barriers this year by extending the conference to more individuals such as students from other schools to share this experience with us. In addition, there is a brand new research symposium this year for graduate and undergraduate students to present research that they are passionate about. Moreover, at each health conference there is a different set of speakers. Come get to know this year’s unique line-up of healthcare professionals!

Do I have to pay for HC?No, you do not have to pay to attend this conference unless you would like to purchase merchandise.

Who can attend HC?Everyone can attend this health conference, even non-UC Davis students, high school students, post-grad students, non-stem majors, people of any ethnicity. Everyone can come and everyone can learn!

What should I wear to HC?It is highly encouraged to wear business casual attire, especially since we will be meeting health care professionals.

Do I need to have anything prepared for HC?Please prepare a device, a charger, and stable wifi to attend this conference in a virtual format. Before the conference, please make sure that you have filled out the registration form for the conference and created a Hopin account. You may also prepare any questions that you have for the speakers, a means of taking notes, and the conference’s program.

Is HC going to be virtual or in-person?This conference will be virtual through the digital conference meeting platform, Hopin.

Do I have to stay the entire time?You are not required to stay the entire time. However, we would recommend staying until the end of the health conference to maximize your experience.

Will I be able to talk to professionals?Yes, we will have Q&A sessions, and you will be able to obtain their contact information (e.g. email, LinkedIn).

Can I invite people to come along?Yes, this is highly encouraged! Please make sure that everyone registers before attending. You cannot attend if you do not fill out the registration form.

How long will HC be?The conference will be 7 hours with many 10-15 minute breaks in between each workshop and an hour lunch halfway through.

Can I attend this year’s HC even though I attended previous HCs?Yes. This new health conference is a different experience with different speakers from those you may have seen previously.
