Mission Statement

FAHC (Filipinx Association for Health Careers) is an organization at UC Davis with a goal to provide personal, social and academic support to students interested in pursuing a health-related career. We promote Filipinx related health issues and spread cultural awareness to the community. With a blend of customs and academic guidance, we as members realize the health field is not just knowing the facts, but knowing the people that build it. FAHC strives to provide an atmosphere in which members can experience personal growth, utilize resources to achieve their goals, and to promote feelings of friendship and camaraderie.

Our Hxstory

The Filipinx Association for Health Careers (FAHC) was established in 1981 by a group of Filipinx students who shared the common goal of promoting health awareness and resources to those interested in pursuing careers in healthcare. As a committee of Mga Kapatid, the leaders felt that as a separate organization, the group would be able to have more access to resources, funding, and room rentals. Breaking away from Mga Kapatid, FAHC was registered and recognized as an independent student organization by the Student Programs and Activities Center at UC Davis in 1985. As its own organization, FAHC continues to provide both academic and social support to anyone interested in pursuing a health career. Establishing its own constitution, FAHC’s mission is to empower college students, specifically Filipinx undergraduates, to become health professionals by educating members about all the opportunities, resources and different career paths available in the health sciences.
