What is Health Conference?

Health Conference is a biennial, in-person conference that caters to undergraduate students pursuing a future career in pre-health. This conference aims to celebrate Fil-Am Leaders in the field and promote inter-professional teamwork in the health field to foster an empathetic environment for the future of healthcare.

During our Health Conference, students will be able to attend a breadth of workshops hosted by health care professionals from various fields including:

  • Physicians

  • Physician Assistants (PA)

  • Nurses

  • Dentists

  • Medical Laboratory Scientists (MLS)

The theme for this year is “Makabagong Salinlahi: Kalusugan at Pagbabago.” It references the timeliness of action as Filipino communities navigate political and public health issues, like the immediate health crisis caused by Typhoon Uwan and political corruption. It builds on the legacy of Filipinos in healthcare whose tenure has been marked by compassionate care, paving the way for a new generation of leaders to equitably serve diverse communities.

“Makabagong Salinlahi: Kalusugan at Pagbabago” translates to “New Generation: Health and Change.” As we navigate diverse prehealth pathways, we honor those who came before us and inspire us to serve. We continue to build on their legacy by placing a special emphasis on equitable opportunities and extending care to all. Through various speakers, seminars, and discussions, we hope to provide attendees the skills they need to not only progress toward their professional goals, but also to become advocates who improve their communities and instill meaningful change in them. FAHC’s health conference empowers the next generation of health professionals to become symbols of hope, professionally well-equipped and empowered to address challenges within different communities.
